<p>Have you ever wondered which muscles should be active and which ones relaxed in a yoga pose?  This seminar will explore this question, while students experience engaging the muscles that are needed for the posture.  The idea of using necessary muscles to stabilize posture and let the rest of the muscles relax into the pose will help students to better understand posture, experience poses without straining muscles and be empowered to find energy and peace from within.</p>

<p>Yoga is quite possibly the most ancient science known to man. Stone carvings depicting human figures in meditation have been unearthed in the Indus Valley, where the findings date back more than 5,000 years. Yoga is believed to have originated as long as 8,000 years ago, and the earliest known texts are the Upanishads (400 BC), the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (200 BC). This seminar will talk about the history of yoga and it’s spiritual roots, with a special focus on the connection between Yoga and Hinduism.</p>

<p>Yoga holds much therapeutic value, and several yoga poses have been proven to relieve menstrual pain. Yoga can also help the mind and body adapt with stress, anxiety and depression, bringing about a feeling of calm and relaxation, enabling women to cope with psychological systems of PMS. Having a generally relaxed mind and body can also help in alleviating menstrual discomfort. This seminar will offer Yoga strategies for coping with and managing the symptoms.</p>
