  • IT Band in Yoga Poses with Donna Dufoe

    The IT band is a section of fascial tissue that runs from the outer thigh/hip area to the top one of the lower leg bones. Many people complain of tightness in the IT band, which can associated with high levels of activity, including biking, running and hiking, as well as low levels of activity like desk and/or car sitting, that lead to weakness of the surrounding muscles. This seminar will offer a Yoga pose perspective on the IT band that will not only provide an IT band stretch, but offer a deep level of awareness and information about this intrinsic part of the body.

  • Yoga for Special Populations: Working with Eating Disorders with Susi Costello

    The practice of yoga, especially slower and non-competitive forms of yoga, shows promise as a method for treating eating disorders. More and more people who are suffering with this are turning to yoga for support in the healing process. Experts in the are talking about positive results from fostering a greater mind-body connection through yoga poses and tools of self understanding along with meditative practices to help manage anxiety and other life challenges more effectively. This seminar will focus on a yogic approach to understanding and working with people with eating disorders.

  • Practicing Surrender in Yoga Poses with Bob Butera

    Letting go is not easy. In most of our daily activities we are doing just the opposite. We are working towards a goal. We are trying to strengthen. We are always pushing. Thankfully, Yoga offers many tools to help guide the practitioner to a state of deep physical release and mental surrendering. In this state, consciousness can expand and communication with a larger reality can be experienced. Come and try these powerful practices for yourself!

  • Partner Assisted Yin Yoga with Kristen Butera

    Sat. Feb 11th, 2 – 4 PM

    This workshop will focus on a hands on partnered Yin Yoga pose sequence that allows for a healing touch, passive pose experience. The participants will be paired into twos and will experience a 1 hour sequence of yoga poses as both the giver and the receiver of the assistance. Good for yoga teachers interested in exploring or refining hands on adjustment skills as well as everyday practitioners would who like to try out assisted Yin Yoga. Bring a friend to partner with, or meet a new friend at the workshop!

  • Partner Yoga Class with Teresa Winte & Mark Moliterno

    Partner Yoga is a fun way to develop greater trust, sensitivity and understanding in a Yoga Practice. Through poses and breathing exercises, partners will rely on each other’s support to increase awareness of balance, concentration, relaxation and release. The partnered pose experience can engender an new understanding presence, support and connection with self and others and open the body in a way that one might not be able to do alone. Bring a friend or loved one to play with or feel free to show up solo and find a new friend in class!

  • Concentration Points in Yoga Poses with Dr. Bob Butera

    Focusing on specific concentration points while in Yoga poses can unlock negative energy patterns and bring about awareness of the body and mind. Learn about the theory behind this ancient concentration technique and how to apply it to your personal practice. A basic understanding of yoga pose alignment will be required to participate in this class.

    Sound is closely associated with the soul the part of us that reflects something deep and eternal. The simple joy in using one’s voice to pronounce certain sounds in rhythmic combinations and vary a few tones is enough to generate powerful chemicals in the body. Using sound in a Yoga practice special types of breathing and certain body motions while using the sounds can create a unique environment for healing to occur. This seminar will help you to explore the use of sound in Yoga poses, and offer the opportunity to experience this powerful practice for yourself!

  • Yoga Asana for Healthy Skin with Erika Tenenbaum

    Yin Yoga is a powerful balancing practice that consists of long-held poses (3 minutes or more) that affect the joint and connective tissues of our bodies. This seminar will focus on the yin poses that deeply work the the spine and release the lower back. After poses there will be a nice long savasana with guided relaxation. Come dressed for a slow and relaxing Yoga class!

    Surya Namaskar, the Sun Salutation, is a traditional series of 12 postures performed in a single, graceful flow. Different styles of yoga have unique variations and learning how to link these postures together with breath can be a very empowering experience. This seminar will explore the history, evolution and meaning of the Sun Salutation, as well sequencing and uses for personal practice. Come dressed for a yoga class!

  • Vinyasa Flow Yoga Challenge with Erika Tenenbaum

    Yoga helps to tone and strengthen the muscles of the body along with creating an increased sense of well being and relaxation. This special 2 hour Vinyasa class will explore empowering sequences of flowing poses that increase upper and lower body strength along in addition to breathing and other practices that create an increased sense well-being. Practitioners will utilize core awareness to improve safety and stability while flowing in and out of poses. Please dress comfortably for an active class and prepare to have fun!
