  • April 24 – 25th: The YogaVoice™ with Mark Moliterno

    Sound vibration connects us to the infinite. The exploration of sound through singing and chanting also has many health and personal benefits. YogaVoice™ uses Classical Hatha yoga principles and practices to enable ordinary people to connect to (and in some cases discover) their authentic voices.

    Topics Covered will Include:

    - Yoga postures to enable the free voice
    - Voice & Concentration techniques
    - Breath management for improved voice control
    - Facing performance anxiety
    - Developing creative/artistic integrity
    - Group singing and chanting

  • Posture Clinic: Low Back and Sacrum with Jim Dougherty

    Wed. March 10th, 7:35 – 9 PM
    $15 or use class card

    Yoga practices can help to not only strengthen our backs while preventing the occurrence and/or re-occurrence of certain back injuries. This seminar will focus on the poses that can tone back muscles and make the back more flexible, alleviate pain and even improve posture. Learn how to keep the spine healthy and supple for many years to come!

  • Yin Yoga for the Spine with Kristen Butera

    Sat. March 13th, 1:30 – 3:30 PM
    $20 pre-register/$25 at door

    Yin Yoga is a powerful balancing practice that consists of long-held poses (3 minutes or more) that affect the joint and connective tissues of our bodies. This seminar will focus on the yin poses that deeply work the the spine and release the lower back. After poses we will have a nice long savasana with guided relaxation. Come dressed for a slow and relaxing Yoga class!

  • Archetypes in Yoga Poses with Dr. Bob Butera

    An archetype is an original model or type after which other similar things are patterned. Through Yoga poses, it is possible to embody both natural and humanistic archetypes and go back through this chain. An understanding of this model can deepen a Yoga pose practice by connecting the practitioner with something much bigger than themselves, offering new avenues for healing and personal growth. This seminar will introduce the concept of archetypes with a special focus on helping students incorporate their understanding and take practice to a whole new level of self-realization.

  • Chakra Yoga for Creativity with Mark Moliterno

    The Chakra system can be viewed as a pathway to unlocking our innate creativity in work, play, and our daily lives. This workshop will explore the mind/body connection through the Chakras and the role of each Chakra in terms of personal creativity. Yoga postures and breath techniques for balancing the Chakras will be offered.

  • Find Yoga Posture in Daily Activity with Donna Dufoe

    An individual’s experience of yoga postures differs daily according intention, attitude and level of concentration. Have you ever asked yourself what your posture looks like at work, in the car or out on a walk? Can you find length in your spine, even pressure through the feet and natural knee alignment in your daily work? We will observe how we sit and move and make small adjustments to better understand postural imbalances and general body awareness. This will help students to find balance within and start to create healthy posture habits without over-straining the joints.

  • Yoga for PMS with Erika Tenebaum

    Yoga holds much therapeutic value, and several yoga poses have been proven to relieve menstrual pain. Yoga can also help the mind and body adapt with stress, anxiety and depression, bringing about a feeling of calm and relaxation, enabling women to cope with psychological systems of PMS. Having a generally relaxed mind and body can also help in alleviating menstrual discomfort. This seminar will offer Yoga strategies for coping with and managing the symptoms.

    The Root Chakra connects us to the structural strength of our bodies, including our connection to the earth and the energy of manifestation within us. Physiologically, our bones, muscles, legs, feet, and pelvic floor are connected to this energy. This special class will focus building energetic awareness and include breathing exercises, yoga poses and meditation/visualization techniques that will awaken and strengthen from within.     The Sacral Chakra offers us insights into the organic, dynamic and flowing energy that lies within. It is connected to the core issues of emotions and creativity. Physiologically, it is nestled in the region of the lower belly, connected to our sex and digestive organs. Metaphysically it connects us to the water element and the ability “go with the flow” of life. This special class will focus building fluidity in the body and include breathing exercises, yoga poses and meditation/visualization techniques that will awaken the flow within.   • Yoga for Asthma with Dr. Bob Butera

    According to Yoga philosophy, a calm mind produces regulated breathing and a relaxed body. In this way, breathing exercises can help people with Asthma and other respiratory problems. Yoga Exercises including poses, breathing, and relaxation techniques help strengthen the lungs and enhance airflow. This seminar will focus on Yoga Lifestyle approaches and techniques to help people living with Asthma. Good for all levels of practitioners, including people with breathing challenges and teachers in training who are interested in the subject.

  • Hinduism & Yoga with Mythri Menon

    Yoga is quite possibly the most ancient science known to man. Stone carvings depicting human figures in meditation have been unearthed in the Indus Valley, where the findings date back more than 5,000 years. Yoga is believed to have originated as long as 8,000 years ago, and the earliest known texts are the Upanishads (400 BC), the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (200 BC). This seminar will talk about the history of yoga and it’s spiritual roots, with a special focus on the connection between Yoga and Hinduism.

  • Yoga Stabilizer Muscles with Donna Dufoe

    Have you ever wondered which muscles should be active and which ones relaxed in a yoga pose? This seminar will explore this question, while students experience engaging the muscles that are needed for the posture. The idea of using necessary muscles to stabilize posture and let the rest of the muscles relax into the pose will help students to better understand posture, experience poses without straining muscles and be empowered to find energy and peace from within.
